| dc.description | Wastewater is a major cause of environmental problems to the environment, and these characteristics usually prevent the common disposal. Legislation is in place to standardize the discharge of these effluents and the use and reuse of water, so it is necessary to guarantee the quality of the water used and, above all, the efficacy of effluent treatment. In the potato sticks industry observed, the starch is removed from the effluent generated through a decanter, which process precedes its disposal. The main objective of this report was to characterize the subterranean water used in the potato washing process and the generated effluent, aiming to propose a suitable treatment that allows reuse and standardization of the waste. Therefore, the physical-chemical and biological characterization of the collected samples was carried out in order to identify the parameters that exceed the legislation, which helped to classify the samples and define the treatment methods evaluated. Aluminum sulphate treatment proved to be efficient with good flocculation and excellent appearance after gravity filtration, however adjustments and improvements are required so that all parameters are standardized for effluent discharge. Analyzes carried out show that after disinfection with chlorine the treated effluent falls under reuse Class 3, of NBR 13.969, however, reuse will only be evidenced when the discharge of the effluent is standardized. The aeration of the effluent shows slight mitigation of the degradation process of the organic matter contained in the sample, however, chemical-physical analyzesare necessary to validate this information. | |
| dc.description | Águas residuárias são grandes causadores de problemas ambientais ao meio ambiente, e suas características geralmente impedem o descarte comum. Existem legislações responsáveis pela padronização do lançamento destes efluentes e do uso e reúso das águas, portanto, é necessário garantir a qualidade da água utilizada e principalmente a eficácia do tratamento de efluentes. Na indústria de batatas palhas observada, o amido é removido do efluente gerado através de um decanter, processo que antecede o seu descarte. O principal objetivo deste relatório foi caracterizar a água subterrânea utilizada no processo de lavagem das batatas e o efluente gerado, visando propor um tratamento adequado que possibilite o reúso e a padronização do descarte. Portanto, realizou-se a caracterização físico-química e biológica das amostras coletadas no intuito de identificar os parâmetros excedentes à legislação, quais auxiliaram na classificação das amostras e definição dos métodos de tratamento avaliados. O tratamento com sulfato de alumínio mostrou-se eficiente com boa floculação e excelente aparência após filtração por gravidade, porém são necessárias adequações e melhorias para que todos os parâmetros sejam padronizados para o lançamento do efluente. Análises realizadas demonstram que após desinfecção com cloro o efluente tratado enquadra-se na Classe 3 de reuso, da NBR 13.969, contudo o reúso somente será evidenciado quando o lançamento do efluente estiver padronizado. A aeração do efluente demonstra leve amenização do processo de degradação da matéria orgânica contida na amostra, todavia, análises físico-químicas são necessárias para validar estas informações. | |
