| dc.description | Invisalign consists of a series of transparent plastic trays that are removable and move the teeth in the planned manner. The present study aimed to carry out a review of the literature regarding aesthetic aligners describing their possible limitations, indications and the positive and negative characteristics in the treatment with Invisalign. The results show that Invisalign is effective in treatments such as overbite, corrections of mild and moderate occlusions and in partially severe treatments, in view of a low decrease in pain during orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, however, the Invisalign provides a better quality of life for the patient being satisfactory, so the treatment with the aligner systems presents a better periodontal health by facilitating oral hygiene clinically proven by several authors, and Invisalign is considered as a first choice option in patients who are at risk of developing periodontal disease. | |
| dc.description | O Invisalign consiste em uma série de moldeiras plásticas transparentes que são removíveis e movimentam os dentes da maneira planejada. O presente estudo teve por objetivo realizar uma revisão de literatura a respeito de alinhadores estéticos Invisalign descrevendo suas possíveis limitações, indicações e as características positivas e pontos negativos durante o tratamento ortodôntico. Os resultados demonstraram que o Invisalign é eficaz na correção de más oclusões leves e moderadas, mas com limitações em casos que envolvem extração ou alterações transversais. Tem como fatores positivos uma diminuição da dor durante o tratamento ortodôntico, melhor aceitação pelo paciente por ser estético e uma maior facilidade na higiene oral. Os autores puderam concluir que, apesar de apresentar limitações, possui fatores positivos e que pode ser a primeira opção de escolha em pacientes que tenham o risco de desenvolver doença periodontal. | |
