| dc.description | Este trabalho teve como finalidade estudar o papel do Banco Mundial, enquanto principal organismo internacional de financiamento do desenvolvimento no Brasil. Procurou ressaltar a importância de um banco de desenvolvimento, desde o período pós- Segunda Guerra Mundial, em razão da necessidade da reconstrução dos países derrotados, e também, contemporaneamente, a partir do avanço da tecnologia da informação e do aumento de fluxo de capitais no mundo. Por meio de uma pesquisa básica, de abordagem qualitativa, exploratória e bibliográfica, foi relatada a história do principal organismo do Grupo Banco Mundial, o Banco Internacional de Reconstrução e Desenvolvimento (BIRD), bem como, a estruturação do Grupo, e seu papel no financiamento do desenvolvimento no Brasil. Abordou os outros organismos financeiros que compõem o Grupo Banco Mundial, a atuação de outros bancos de desenvolvimento que financiam projetos mundialmente, e principalmente, de que forma o Banco atua no âmbito do financiamento para a educação. Exemplificou, por meio de projetos, a grande necessidade de financiamento para este setor. | dc.description | This work aimed to study the role of the World Bank, as one of the main organizations for the financing of development in Brazil. It aimed to highlight the importance of a development bank, especially in the moment post war - with the need to rebuild the defeated countries and even in this time, with the evolution of information technology and the increase of capital flows. Through basic research, a qualitative, exploratory and bibliographical approach, it was reported the history of the main organization in the World Bank Group, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), and also, its activities for development finance in Brazil. It was mentioned the other organisms that are in the World Bank, the role of other development banks that finance around the world, and, especially, how the Bank also exerts its financing activities for education. It was exemplified, through projects, the importance of financing education. The research contributed to the better understanding of the functions performed by a development bank like the World Bank, since the financial interdependence is growing and can be used as advantage to further social development | |
