dc.descriptionReligious Studies is a relatively new discipline in Brazil, constituted by the interests of researchers from varying different fields related to the religious phenomenon. That fact results in short efforts in search of epistemologies which may safeguard an uniqueness for this area of study. In this sense, the purpose of this publication is to think from Rubem Alves to a theoretical-methodological approach to the Science of Religion, which takes into account problematics related to the definition of its object - the religion - and the scholars' intended objectives. To this end, we propose an anthropology elaborated through a structural reading of the Alvesian bibliography, which presents the body and human desires as essential elements. Subsequently, at Alves's works stand out a meaning and delimitation of the religious phenomenon that is perceived as a distinctive language. Moreover, anchored in the philosophy of science of Rubem Alves, the scientists of religion are challenged to exteriorize their desires and values, enabling approaches to religion that make evident such predicatives, making the researchs effectives towards a humanitarian commitment.
dc.descriptionA Ciência da Religião é uma disciplina relativamente nova no Brasil, constituída basicamente a partir do interesse de pesquisadores (as), de diferentes áreas, no fenômeno religioso, o que resulta em módicos esforços intentando epistemologias que salvaguardem uma singularidade para esta área de estudos. Nesse sentido, o objetivo desta tese é de propor a partir de Rubem Alves uma abordagem teórico-metodológica para a Ciência da Religião que leve em conta as problemáticas relativas à definição de seu objeto — a religião — e dos objetivos pretendidos pelos cientistas. Para tanto, apresenta-se uma antropologia construída através de uma leitura estrutural da bibliografia alvesiana que tem como elementos essenciais o corpo e os desejos humanos. Posteriormente, destaca-se nas obras alvesianas uma significação e delimitação do fenômeno religioso que o percebe como uma linguagem distintiva. Por fim, ancorado na filosofia da ciência de Rubem Alves, desafia-se os (as) cientistas da religião a uma exteriorização de seus próprios desejos e valores, possibilitando abordagens da religião que evidenciem tais predicativos, tornando as pesquisas efetivas no sentido de um compromisso humanitário.
