| dc.description | The present study seeks to illustrate the theme that involves monetary policy, its instruments
and the impacts generated in the Brazilian economy after the Real Plan. Most governments that
succeeded the Plan adhered to the use of monetary policy on a larger scale, which highlights
the important role of money in the economy. The work will make it possible to identify the
main actions of the Central Bank of Brazil regarding the use of transmission channels over these
years, according to the Brazilian situation and the governments in force at the time, and which
empirical evidence supports the use of a particular mechanism over another. Hence the
importance attributed to this research, which, along with other studies in the macroeconomic
field, contributes to a better understanding of inflationary phenomena and the performance of
mechanisms in the search for economic stability. With regard to the obstruction of channels,
such an approach is important to understand a series of peculiarities that condition the way in
which monetary policy operates in Brazil. The differential of this research consists in the
presentation of the review of more current studies that refer to the subject addressed, bringing
to the contemporary world new understandings about the functioning of monetary policy and
the expansion of the debate regarding the failures involving the transmission instruments and
the resulting obstruction of them. | |
| dc.description | O presente estudo busca ilustrar a temática que envolve a política monetária, seus instrumentos
e os impactos gerados na economia brasileira pós Plano Real. A maioria dos governos que
sucederam ao Plano aderiram à utilização da política monetária em maior escala, o que traz à
luz o importante papel da moeda na economia. O trabalho possibilitará identificar as principais
ações do Banco Central do Brasil no que tange a utilização dos canais de transmissão ao longo
desses anos, de acordo com a conjuntura brasileira e os governos vigentes à época, e quais
evidências empíricas dão suporte para a utilização de um determinado mecanismo em
detrimento de um outro. Daí a importância atribuída a esta pesquisa que, junto com demais
estudos no campo macroeconômico, contribui para o melhor entendimento dos fenômenos
inflacionários e a atuação dos mecanismos na busca pela estabilidade econômica. No que se
refere à obstrução dos canais, tal abordagem é de importância para compreender uma série de
peculiaridades que condicionam o modo pelo qual a política monetária atua no Brasil. O
diferencial desta pesquisa consta na apresentação da revisão de estudos mais atuais que
remetem ao tema tratado, trazendo à contemporaneidade novas compreensões acerca do
funcionamento da política monetária e a ampliação do debate no tocante às falhas envolvendo
os instrumentos de transmissão e a decorrente obstrução destes. | |
