| dc.description | The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of the inclusion of lipids in the diet of discus and its effect on the growth, metabolism and histopathological response of the intestine and liver. The fish (initial weight 2.15 ± 0.15 g, and initial length 3.81 ± 0.50 cm) were fed for 60 days with three commercial diets containing 3%, 10% and 14% lipids (LP). The fish (15 individuals per aquarium) were placed in 12 50 L glass aquariums, divided into three treatments with four replications. Fish fed diets with 10% LP showed better protein efficiency rates, and a condition factor three times higher than other treatments. Digestive lipase proved to be responsive up to the level of 10% LP. Associated with this, there was an increase in the activity of alkaline phosphatase in the digestive tract. There was a reduction in albumin values in fish fed with 14% LP. The morphometry of the intestinal villi revealed that there was an increase in this structure as the level of lipids in the diet increased, with the highest height observed for fish fed with 14% LP. For this study, the adequate lipids level to maintain the development and health of Acará Disco is 10%. | |
| dc.description | O presente estudo foi conduzido para investigar os efeitos da inclusão de lipídeos na dieta de acará disco e seu efeito sobre o crescimento, metabolismo e resposta histopatológicas do intestino e fígado. Os peixes (peso inicial 2.15 ± 0.15 g, e comprimento inicial 3.81 ± 0.50 cm) foram alimentados por 60 dias com três dietas comerciais contendo 3%, 10% e 14% de lipídeos (LP). Os peixes (15 indivíduos por aquário) foram alocados em 12 aquários de vidro de 50 L, divididos em três tratamentos com quatro repetições. Os peixes alimentados com dietas com 10% LP apresentaram melhores taxas de eficiência proteica, e fator de condição três vezes maior que os demais tratamentos. A lipase digestiva mostrou-se responsiva até o nível de 10% LP. Associado a isso, houve aumento da atividade da fosfatase alcalina no trato digestório. Houve redução dos valores de albumina nos peixes alimentados com 14% LP. A morfometria das vilosidades intestinais revelaram que houve aumento dessa estrutura conforme aumentou o nível de lipídeos na dieta, sendo a maior altura observada para os peixes alimentados com 14% LP. Para este estudo o nível de lipídeo adequado para manter o desenvolvimento e à saúde de Acará Disco é de 10%. | |
