The sporting environment carries in itself, since the beginning, a sexist structure and, consequently, homophobic. Over the years, athletes outside of heteronormativity began to assume themselves as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, bringing a new vision to the examples of heroism for society. Therefore, through a qualitative research, carried out with the greatest sports references, women who are or were Olympic athletes, who assumed they were outside heterosexuality, but within the sport. Below we will see a summary of the lives of these Olympic women through an interview interpreted by discourse analysis with topics such as homosexuality, external and public reactions, and prejudice within sport.
