| dc.description | Nesse sentido a caminhabilidade se apresenta como ferramenta importante na concepção ou requalificação dos espaços para se atingir a lugaridade que proporciona a apropriação e o reconhecimento deles enquanto lugar. Partindo dessa realidade a pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar em que medida a caminhabilidade ou a falta dela afetam a percepção e apropriação dos espaços públicos da cidade. Os resultados são aqui apresentados em três artigos independentes, porém relacionados. O primeiro, se trata de uma revisão teórico- conceitual dos termos caminhabilidade e lugaridade, e conclui como imprescindível a relação deles para a evolução das pesquisas relacionadas ao desenvolvimento e gestão urbanos para promover cidades mais justas e sustentáveis. O segundo verificou alterações no trecho da área central de Manhuaçu de 1980 a 2022, incluindo o advento da pandemia, de aspectos ligados à caminhabilidade por meio de levantamento fotográfico e documental em acervos de instituições municipais, avaliados sob a ótica da teoria de Jeff Speck e a percepção dos usuários por meio de questionário semiestruturado, que relataram hostilidade e insegurança no espaço frente à pandemia. Observou-se que alterações que não consideram a manutenção da cultura diminuem as possibilidades de criação de vínculos. O terceiro artigo avaliou a interferência das configurações físicas do espaço quanto à caminhabilidade para a manutenção do distanciamento social recomendado na pandemia da COVID-19 aplicando-se parte da metodologia do Safári Urbano em imagens aéreas realizadas por VANT (veículo aéreo não tripulado), onde o espaço se demonstrou um entrave para tal, viabilizando parcialmente o cumprimento das recomendações sanitárias. Avaliando a íntegra, entende-se a caminhabilidade como condição ótima para a percepção da lugaridade dos espaços públicos urbanos, embora não essencial. Palavras-chave: Mobilidade Ativa. | dc.description | Thereafter, walkability presents itself as an important tool in the design for conception or for requalification of spaces to reach the placeness that provides the appropriation and recognition of them as places. Based on this reality, the research aimed to investigate the extent to which walkability or the lack of it affects the perception and appropriation of public spaces in the city. The results are presented here in three independent but related articles. The first is a theoretical-conceptual review of walkability and placeness and concludes that their connection is essential for the evolution of research in urban development and urban management to promote equitable and sustainable cities. The second verified changes of aspects related to walkability in the central area of Manhuaçu from 1980 to 2022, including the pandemic outbreak. It was done through photographic and documentary investigation in collections of municipal institutions appraised from the perspective of the theory of Jeff Speck and from the perception of users which was reached through a semi-structured questionnaire. The users reported hostility and insecurity at spaces when facing the pandemic. It was then observed that changes that do not consider the maintenance of culture reduce the possibilities of creating bonds. The third article evaluated the interference of the physical configurations of the space regarding walkability for the maintenance of the recommended social distance through the COVID-19 pandemic, applying part of the Urban Safari methodology in aerial images taken by UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). The space was proved to be an obstacle to it, partially enabling the compliance of health recommendations. Evaluating the research on its entirety, walkability is understood as an optimum condition for the perception of the placeness of urban public spaces, although non-essential.
