| dc.description | Esta pesquisa analisou dezoito vídeos compartilhados publicamente por mães de autistas na plataforma de vídeos YouTube. O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi conhecer as narrativas compartilhadas pelas mães sobre suas experiências de terem um filho com autismo, utilizando como metodologia a etnografia virtual. Partimos do pressuposto de que tanto o conhecimento sobre o autismo quanto a vivência das mães de crianças com este diagnóstico é bastante diversificado e que, contemporaneamente, há uma grande valorização por parte dos familiares do saber produzido por outros familiares, donde a Internet se apresenta como importante fonte de informação e troca sobre saúde. No âmbito teórico da pesquisa, exploramos a literatura sobre o que é ser mãe de uma criança com autismo e, para tal, abordamos o histórico da construção do ideal de maternidade nas sociedades ocidentais, trouxemos reflexões sobre os impactos subjetivos de ter um filho autista e sobre como os pais, principalmente as mães, foram representados ao longo das mudanças na concepção sobre o autismo. Além disso, trabalhamos sobre os conceitos narrativa e experiência, trazendo as especificidades de narrar sobre a própria experiência em ambientes digitais. Como resultado de nossa análise, as narrativas se mostraram potenciais construtoras de identificações entre as mães de autista e vimos a construção de um comum relacionado com a percepção de que o filho é diferente do idealizado, a reconstrução de expectativas quanto ao futuro do filho, a dor emergente ao receber o diagnóstico e também a experiência cotidiana de cuidar de uma criança autista e de sofrer discriminações. A forma como as mães transmitem suas experiências é atravessada pelas lógicas e possibilidades do ambiente digital, precisamente do YouTube Vemos que as mães que produzem os vídeos têm seu saber fruto da experiência valorizado, contudo, em constante diálogo com o saber técnico-científico, por vezes hibridizando-se. Os vídeos são feitos por mulheres e são endereçados para outras mulheres, mães de autistas, e estas por sua vez legitimam e se identificam com o conteúdo compartilhado. Por fim, vemos que as mães de autistas, apesar das singularidades de suas histórias, entendem que há algo de comum, algo que as aproxima em termos de identidade social e, ao compartilharem suas experiências, elas reforçam o espírito de coletividade. Desta forma, chegamos a fala que dá título a esta dissertação: "Toda mãe de autista sabe do que eu estou falando". | |
| dc.description | In this work, we perform the analysis of eighteen videos publicly shared by autistics mothers in the video sharing service, YouTube. The goal is to study the narratives shared by mothers about their experience in having a child diagnosed with autism, using virtual ethnography as methodology. We assume that the knowledge about autism as well as the experience of mothers with children with that diagnosis are very diversified, and that, currently, there is a great valorization by the families of the knowledge shared by other families, with the Internet presenting itself as an important source of information on health and exchange of experiences. In the theoretical scope, we explore the literature on the historical construction of motherhood in occidental societies, aiming to bring reflections on the subjective impact of having an autistic child and how the parents, especially mothers, were represented in the ever changing concepts about autism. Moreover, we work with the concept of narratives and of experience, bringing up the specificity of narrative one's own experience in a digital environment. As a result of our analysis, the narratives show themselves as a potential way of constructing identification between autistc´s mothers and we are able to see the construction of a common ground for these mothers, based on the perception that their child is different than the idealized, the reconstruction of expectations for the childs future, the emerging pain when receiving the diagnosis, the daily experience of taking care of an autitstic child, and suffering discrimination. The way these mothers convey their experiences is traversed by the logic and the possibilities of the digital space, YouTube in particular. We observe that the mothers producing the videos have their knowledge derived from their own experience which is in constant dialogue with technical-scientific knowledge. In many cases, there is a hybridization of both The videos are made by women to other women, mothers of autistic children, who legitimate them and identify themselves with the shared contents. Lastly, we observe that mothers of autists, in spite of the singularity of each story, understand that there is something in common between them, something that brings them closer together and, when they share their own personal experiences, they enhance their collective spirit. Therefore, we get to the discourse that originated the title of the dissertation every autistics mother knows what I am talking about. | |
