dc.descriptionThe objective of this study was to analyze the risk factors that predispose to kidney disease in the inhabitants of the municipality of Quelepa, department of San Miguel, El Salvador. The methodology was quantitative. The main method used was the hypothetical-deductive method. The techniques for data collection were the survey and renal profile sampling. The population consisted of 351 persons over 20 years of age. The results of the study showed alterations in the biochemical parameters of the renal profile samples analyzed; and personal risk factors, among them: chronic diseases and family history of renal failure. It is concluded that the unhealthy lifestyles of the inhabitants of the municipality of Quelepa increase the probability of suffering alterations in renal function; therefore, health promotion within their communities should be strengthened.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo tuvo el objetivo de analizar los factores de riesgo que predisponen al padecimiento de la enfermedad renal en los habitantes del municipio de Quelepa, departamento de san Miguel, El Salvador. La metodología fue cuantitativa. El principal método empleado fue el hipotético-deductivo. Las técnicas para la recolección de los datos fueron la encuesta y la toma de muestras de perfil renal. La población estuvo integrada por 351 personas mayores de 20 años. Los resultados del estudio mostraron alteraciones en los parámetros bioquímicos de las muestras de perfil renal analizadas; y factores de riesgo personales, entre ellos: enfermedades crónicas y antecedentes familiares con insuficiencia renal. Se concluye que, los estilos de vida no saludables, que poseen los habitantes del municipio de Quelepa, incrementan la probabilidad de padecer alteraciones en la función renal, por lo cual, se debe fortalecer la promoción de salud en el seno de sus comunidades.es-ES
