dc.descriptionThe objective of this work was to present a practical experience of care, based on the narration of a personal experience and contrasting it with the theory. It emphasizes the significance of care and the role of the nurse with its complexities and requirements; and recognizes the specific competencies, professional values and continuing education necessary for the performance of the functions in the exercise of the profession. It is concluded that the contribution and response of the cared person becomes one of the essential ingredients to accept and face his/her health situation and, in the case of the nurse, to recover strength when he/she thinks he/she is weakening in the noble profession.en-US
dc.descriptionEste trabajo tuvo por objetivo exponer una experiencia práctica de cuidado, a partir de la narración de una vivencia personal y contrastándola con la teoría. En ella, se enfatiza la significación del cuidado y el rol de quien ejerce la enfermería con sus complejidades y requerimientos; y se reconocen las competencias específicas, los valores profesionales y la educación continua necesarias para el desempeño de las funciones, en el ejercicio de la profesión. Se concluye que, el aporte y la respuesta de la persona cuidada se convierte en uno de los ingredientes esenciales para aceptar y enfrentar su situación de salud y, para el caso de la enfermera o enfermero, recobrar fuerzas cuando cree desfallecer en la noble profesión.es-ES
