Co-habitar con Bogotá: Divulgación científica para niños

Abstract

Colombia es el segundo país con mayor diversidad de anfibios en el mundo, pero a su vez, es uno de los países con mayores amenazas a su biodiversidad. Así, la comunicación científica ha servido como una herramienta clave para dar a conocer la biodiversidad del país y, de esta forma, fomentar un interés por el público. Con base en lo anterior, este proyecto resalta la importancia de divulgar conocimientos científicos sobre la diversidad de especies a un público no especializado. El énfasis en este caso se hace en infancia entre 8 y 12 años de edad. De esta manera, se plantea un proyecto editorial que se desarrolla a través de una historia que navega entre la ficción y la no ficción para comunicar información científica sobre la historia y evolución de las ranas en Colombia, haciendo especial énfasis en una de las especies endémicas de la región central del país, llamada Pristimantis bogotensis, que se encuentra en la sabana de Bogotá.

Colombia is the second country with the greatest diversity of amphibians in the world, but at the same time, it is one of the countries with the greatest threats to its biodiversity. Thus, scientific communication has served as a key tool to publicize the country¿s biodiversity and, in this way, foster interest in the public. Based on the above, this project highlights the importance of disseminating scientific knowledge about the diversity of species to a non-specialized public. The emphasis in this case is on children between 8 and 12 years of age. In this way, an editorial project is proposed and developed through a story that navigates between fiction and non-fiction to communicate scientific information about the history and evolution of frogs in Colombia, with special emphasis on one of the endemic species from the central region of the country, called Pristimantis bogotensis, found in the Bogotá savannah.
