dc.description.abstract | The discussion on the safeguarding of cultural heritage has been originated based on assumptions that seek to defend the "intrinsic" value of heritage sustained on universalist justifications. This type of approach reproduces epistemic biases where non-Western cultures are represented from the point of view of homogenizing readings. Likewise, this is linked to the consolidation of a one-sided narrative in terms of the international normative environment. Thus, the game rules regarding heritage are produced unilaterally by state actors and technocratic networks of experts.
