dc.description.abstractLa arilsulfatasa C es una enzima importante en la regulación de actividades biológicas de hormonas esteroides en una variedad de tejidos, ya que catalizan el clivaje de sulfato de una variedad de sustratos incluyendo esteroides conjugados y otras hormonas. Además, la expresión de esta enzima se encuentra en una variedad de tejidos y en diversas funciones, desde la placenta hasta el desarrollo neurológico. La deficiencia de esta enzima causa una enfermedad relativamente común, con una prevalencia de 1:6000 hombres. Por esto, se hace necesario encontrar los valores de referencia, para encontrar el mejor método experimental de diagnóstico a partir de muestras de sangre.
