dc.description.abstract | Estudios epidemiológicos de la vida silvestre son de gran importancia para el desarrollo de planes de conservación y la prevención de posibles zoonosis en seres humanos. En este sentido, conocer los factores que inciden en las dinámicas de transmisión de patógenos en primates no humanos es una aproximación beneficiosa, debido a la cercanía filogenética de estos organismos con los humanos. Las condiciones medioambientales e interacciones sociales han probado ser determinantes en estas dinámicas de transmisión de patógenos. En este estudio se realizó un muestreo no invasivo de parásitos de una población de monos cariblancos (Cebus veriscolor), junto con un registro de datos comportamentales durante un año en la Hacienda San Juan del Carare, Cimitarra, Santander - Colombia por un periodo de un año. Mediante la implementación de análisis de redes sociales se evaluó la relación entre la cohesividad y la estructura social del grupo con la diversidad de parásitos gastrointestinales. También, se tuvo en cuenta aspectos ambientales como la temperatura, la humedad y pluviosidad como posibles factores que influyen sobre la diversidad de las cargas parasitarias. Se encontró que la diversidad de las cargas parasitarias de la tropa disminuye con el incremento de la pluviosidad, la temperatura y la humedad. Además, se registro una fuerte relación entre la cohesividad del grupo con la diversidad de parásitos de la tropa estudiada. Finalmente, contrario a lo esperado no se evidencio una relación entre las cargas parasitarias con aspectos individuales como la centralidad y la fuerza de las interacciones. Este estudio es el primer acercamiento de como las dinámicas sociales pueden influenciar la transmisión de parásitos en Cebus versicolor, una especie endémica de Colombia y en peligro, por lo que esta información es clave para el desarrollo de los planes de conservación para la especie, ya que puede ser la base para entender las dinámicas de transmisión de sus parásitos y el de su control. | |
