dc.descriptionIn this work, the geohistorical process that explains the Syrian-Lebanese immigration in the municipality of Cereté is studied, multiple factors were combined for the development of one of the population movements from the Middle East to the Colombian continental Caribbean, where they were distributed by different regions , in the Sinú Valley, favorable conditions for trade allowed the arrival of Asians to the municipality of Cerete in the current department of Córdoba, where a large group of immigrants arrived whose presence was of great importance, leaving an economic and social legacy to the population. The incidence of these foreigners in the commercial life of the Sinú Medio province is analyzed, based on the entrepreneurship and intervention that they exercised in the local economy and on the territory, implementing commercial practices and activities in which they stood out (buying and selling, banking , river transport, public investments, agriculture, livestock and real estate), which allowed them to establish commercial relations at the national level, making themselves known and expanding their opportunities to prosper, managing to influence the strengthening of the commercial circuit of the municipality.

dc.descriptionEn este trabajo se estudia el proceso geohistorico que explica la inmigración sirio-libanesa en el municipio de Cereté, múltiples factores se conjugaron para el desarrollo de uno de los movimiento de población del Oriente Medio hacia el Caribe continental colombiano, donde se distribuyeron por diferentes regiones, en el valle del Sinú las condiciones favorables para el comercio permitieron el arribo de asiáticos al municipio de Cerete en el actual departamento de Córdoba, lugar donde llegaron un gran grupo de inmigrantes cuya presencia fue de gran importancia, dejando un legado económico y social a la población. Se analiza la incidencia de estos extranjeros en la vida comercial de la provincia del Sinú Medio, basándose en el emprendimiento e intervención que ejercieron en la economía local y sobre el territorio, implementando prácticas comerciales y actividades en las que se destacaban (compra venta, banca, transporte fluvial, las inversiones públicas, agricultura, ganadería y la finca raíz), lo que les permitía establecer relaciones comerciales a nivel nacional dándose a conocer y ampliando sus oportunidades de prosperar, logrando incidir en el fortalecimiento del circuito comercial del municipio.
