Natural clays can be modified to absorb organic contaminants. The adsorption of four contaminants on an organophilic clay was analyzed based on their dependence on temperature. The isothermal heat of adsorption (adsorption energy) could be calculated for one of these contaminants, as well as the adsorption capacity and temperature dependence for each of them.
