Actitudes frente a la muerte en un grupo organizado de adultos mayores del municipio de Quimbaya-Quindío en el año 2022

Abstract

En los últimos años, la esperanza de vida ha aumentado considerablemente a nivel mundial, la población adulta mayor lo hace de igual forma, y es aquí cuando el concepto de muerte tiene mayor relevancia. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general analizar las actitudes frente a la muerte en adultos mayores de un grupo organizado del municipio de Quimbaya-Quindío en el año 2022. El tipo de investigación es cuantitativo y corresponde a un diseño transeccional descriptivo. La muestra quedó conformada por 32 adultos mayores de ambos sexos, cuyas edades oscilan entre los 60 y 93 años pertenecientes a un grupo cultural del municipio de Quimbaya-Quindío, se utilizó un muestreo no probabilístico. Para la recolección de datos, se aplicaron dos instrumentos: una encuesta sociodemográfica y el instrumento Perfil Revisado de Actitudes hacia la Muerte PAM-R (Wong, Reker, Gesser, 1988), para el procesamiento de información se empleó una hoja de Excel la cual permite organizar la información.

In recent years, life expectancy has increased considerably worldwide, the elderly population has increased significantly, and this is when the concept of death has greater relevance. The present research had as general objective to analyze the attitudes towards death in older adults of an organized group of the municipality of Quimbaya-Quindío in the year 2022. The type of research is quantitative and corresponds to a transactional descriptive design. The sample consisted of 32 older adults of both sexes, whose ages range between 60 and 93 years belonging to a cultural group of the municipality of Quimbaya-Quindío, a non-probabilistic sampling was used. For data collection, two instruments were applied: a socio-demographic survey and the Revised Profile of Attitudes towards Death instrument PAM-R (Wong, Reker, Gesser, 1988), for the processing of information an Excel spreadsheet was used which allows to organize the information.
