The present study aimed to identify the relationships between intolerance to uncertainty, psychological flexibility, repetitive negative thinking, and different symptom patterns for mental disorders in 218 Colombian adults, mean age 33.1 years. Four instruments were applied: Uncertainty Intolerance Scale (IUC), Acceptance and Action Questionnaire- II (AAQ-II), Perseverative Thinking Questionnaire (PTQ) and the Derogatis 90-symptom verification questionnaire (SCL-90-R). The average of the indices for somatization, obsessions, interpersonal sensitivity, depression and anxiety in both genders is below the clinical average. On the other hand, the items of hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation and psychoticism are above the clinical mean. Likewise, significant positive relationships were found between Psychological Flexibility, Repetitive Negative Thinking and Intolerance to Uncertainty with mental health indicators. The results of the study confirm the presence of common mechanisms in various mental health indicators, which may favor the design of transdiagnostic intervention processes in the different mental health problems of the population.
