dc.descriptionspa: Al enfrentar el estudio del vestido desde su identidad artefactual, se observa que su denominada dimensión funcional no puede ser comprendida en los mismos términos en que se han abordado tradicionalmente otros artefactos diseñados, esto es, a partir de los conceptos de usabilidad, eficiencia, eficacia y confort psicológico en relación con una actividad o un trabajo determinado. Por esta razón en esta investigación se pretende construir una definición relacional del concepto vestido funcional, a partir de identificar las concepciones brindadas por diferentes áreas del conocimiento que se han visto implicadas en el estudio del vestido a lo largo de la historia, para así rastrear y caracterizar los atributos, ideas de cuerpo y tipologías vinculados a la expresión vestido funcional desde y para el diseño. A partir de esto se analizaron las implicaciones y contribuciones que esta expresión y los distintos conceptos encontrados traen para la disciplina del diseño respecto a usos futuros de los conceptos, definición de vacíos conceptuales y carencias en la misma disciplina. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se implementó una metodología de corte cualitativo, que a partir de los métodos de análisis documental y recuento histórico permitió una revisión del estado actual del concepto y la extracción de ideas de vestido funcional a partir de los cuales se construyó la definición de vestido funcional para el diseño.
dc.descriptioneng: In confronting the study of the dress from its artifact identity, it is observed that its so-called functional dimension cannot be understood in the same terms that have traditionally been addressed to other designed artifacts, that is to say, from the concepts of usability, efficiency, effectiveness and psychological comfort in relation to a given activity or work. For this reason, in this research it is intended to construct a relational definition of the functional dress concept, from identifying the conceptions offered by different areas of knowledge that have been involved in the study of clothing throughout history, in order to trace and characterize the attributes, body ideas and typologies linked to functional dress expression from and for design. From the previous, the implications and contribution that this expression and its different found concepts have brought to the discipline of design were analyzed in regard to the future uses of concepts, definition of conceptual gaps and deficiencies in the same discipline. For the development of the research, a qualitative methodology was implemented, that from the methods of documentary analysis and historical recount allowed a review of the current state of the concept and the extraction of ideas of functional dress. from this, the definition of functional dress for design was constructed.
