dc.description | spa: Resumen Introducción: Las emociones han sido relacionadas como determinantes en toma de decisiones en estudiantes universitarios, la simulación surge como estrategia didáctica útil en componente disciplinar en medicina, no se ha establecido la utilidad de identificar las emociones en escenarios simulados de urgencia y su impacto en toma de conductas. Objetivos: Establecer interacciones entre las emociones y la toma de decisiones que realizan estudiantes de pregrado en talleres de simulación de urgencias de hemorragia postparto. Metodología: Estudio transversal, cuantitativo con enfoque descriptivo-explicativo, realizado entre junio a diciembre de 2020. Se aplicaron tres instrumentos validados para evaluación de emociones y toma de decisiones medidas como habilidades cognitivas, comunicativas y técnicas, análisis estadístico con Software RStudio. Resultados: Participaron 47 estudiantes de ultimo año de medicina de la Universidad de Manizales, 25 hombres (53,2%) y 22 mujeres (46,8%), edad media 23,6 años (DE 1,6), quienes manifestaron predominio de emociones positivas al inicio (59.6%) se relacionaron con mayor calificación (p 0,001), a mayor confianza mayor calificación en habilidades técnicas y de razonamiento (p 0,02), a mayor alegría, mayor calificación en habilidades técnicas (p 0,04), a mayor nerviosismo, menores calificaciones en habilidades técnicas, comunicativas y de razonamiento (p 0,001), a mayor preocupación, menor puntuación en habilidades comunicativas (p 0,001). Conclusiones: Las emociones inciden directamente las conductas en talleres de simulación, afectando el desarrollo de las habilidades de razonamiento, técnicas y de comunicación, los talleres generan cambios en las emociones, predominantemente sobre la confianza y el nerviosismo, lo cual se relaciona con mejores decisiones. | |
dc.description | eng: Abstract Introduction: Emotions have been related as determinants in decision-making in university students, simulation appear as a useful didactic strategy in a disciplinary component in medicine, the usefulness of identifying emotions in simulated emergency scenarios and their impact on decision-making has not been established. Objectives: To establish interactions between emotions and decision-making at undergraduate students in emergency simulation workshops for postpartum hemorrhage. Methodology: Cross-sectional, quantitative study with a descriptive-explanatory approach, carried between June to December 2020. Three validated instruments were applied for the evaluation of emotions and decision-making measures such as cognitive, communicative and technical skills, statistical analysis with Rstudio Software. Results: 47 final-year medical students from the Manizales University participated, 25 men (53.2%) and 22 women (46.8%), mean age 23.6 years (SD 1.6), who manifested a predominance of positive emotions at the beginning (59.6%) were related to a higher score (p 0.001), the higher the confidence, was associated with higher the score in technical and cognitive skills (p 0.02), the joy, was associated with higher score in technical skills (p 0, 04), greater nervousness, was realtionated with lower grades in technical, communication and reasoning skills (p 0.001), greater concern, lower score in communication skills (p 0.001). Conclusions: Emotions affect behaviors in simulation workshops, affecting the development of cognitive, technical and communication skills, the clinical simulation generate changes in emotions, predominantly on confidence and nervousness, which is related to better clinical decisions. | |
