Intrauterine growth restriction brings with it great challenges in obstetrics with a high rate of adverse perinatal events and even fetal death. In several publications, it has been seen how there are still many gaps regarding when is the best time for birth and before the changes secondary to chronic hypoxia and acidosis are irreversible. Follow-up with ultrasound and fetoplacental Doppler to a fetus with a slowdown in the growth curve are a great tool for decision-making and to avoid adverse events with improved survival and prognosis for these fetuses.
