Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to be certain of the concept of dry port in Colombia, its legal nature, form of application, and to have as a conclusion the purpose of its use, and the effects that the practice entails in commercial custom in relationships. commercial advantages and disadvantages of its use and determine if this use results in a benefit for commercial operations, according to the identified logistics platform. This paper examines the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of dry ports, which are specialized logistics infrastructures that offer an alternative to conventional port operations. The study highlights the high costs of dry port operation due to factors such as poor road conditions, as well as the potential benefits of using these facilities for nationalizing and decongesting goods. Additionally, the paper explores the tax treatment of dry ports under Colombian law, specifically the exemption of taxes during the period in which goods are held in these facilities
