Teatro de Arena: concepção teatral e diálogos políticos latino-americanos (1965-1972)

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to understand the conception of theater adopted by the group " Teatro de Arena " from São Paulo, considering political and asthetic aspects, facing the political context of the current period, both in national level - the military Brazilian government - as regional, considering the current latin-americanism - more especifically the speech based on the idea of belonging to Latin America - and existent in the group's reflections and practices, searching through the available sources, checking the dialogues between this and other groups in Latin America, such as the intercolutions stablished with the Uruguayan group El Galpón.

O objetivo deste trabalho é compreender a concepção de teatro encampada pelo grupo Teatro de Arena de São Paulo, considerando aspectos políticos e estéticos, face ao contexto político do período em questão, tanto em nível nacional - o regime militar brasileiro - como considerando o latino-americanismo vigente - mais precisamente, o discurso calcado na ideia de pertencimento à América Latina - e presente nas reflexões e práticas do grupo. Procuramos, por meios das fontes disponíveis, verificar os diálogos ocorridos entre este e outros grupos da América Latina, a exemplo das interlocuções que estabeleceu com o grupo uruguaio El Galpón.
