A arte como ferramenta de educação ambiental: um levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema

Abstract

No século XX, a atividade humana sobre o planeta Terra começou a chamar atenção sobre seus possíveis impactos, sendo que, na década de 1990, esses danos começaram a ser debatidos com mais seriedade, com o objetivo de mitigá-los e preveni-los. Nesse contexto, surge a Educação Ambiental (EA) como recurso fundamental para conscientizar a população sobre suas ações no ambiente e gerar reflexão sobre que planeta será deixado para as futuras gerações. No Brasil, de acordo com a legislação, a EA deve ser tratada como tema transversal nas instituições de ensino formais e informais. Nesse sentido, esta pesquisa analisou a possibilidade de educar ambientalmente a partir da arte, uma vez que a cultura de um povo e suas manifestações artísticas possuem forte poder de sensibilização. A partir de uma análise sistemática qualitativa da literatura científica que aborda a união dos temas, foi possível constatar a eficiência da metodologia interdisciplinar, que une arte e EA, e que essa união apresentou resultados positivos, segundo os trabalhos investigados nesta pesquisa. Dessa forma, foi constatado que as práticas relatadas nos artigos foram capazes de gerar interesse e despertar o pensamento crítico dos educandos perante as problemáticas socioambientais. Não há como afirmar, no entanto, que haja efetivamente uma mudança de hábitos por parte dos estudantes e suas famílias, uma vez que os estudos encontrados não os acompanharam para além do ambiente escolar nem tiveram contato com as famílias dos estudantes. Por fim, foi possível compreender que metodologias que unam arte e EA se mostram promissoras no caminho em direção a formas mais sustentáveis de desenvolvimento.

In the 20th century, human activity on planet Earth began to draw attention to its potential impacts. In the 1990s, these damages started to be discussed more seriously, aiming to mitigate and prevent them. In this context, Environmental Education (EE) emerged as a fundamental resource to raise awareness among the population about their actions in the environment and to generate reflection on the planet that will be left for future generations. In Brazil, according to legislation, EE must be treated as a crosscutting theme in formal and informal educational institutions. In this sense, this research analyzed the possibility of environmentally educating through art, since the culture of a people and their artistic expressions have a strong power of sensitization. Through a systematic qualitative analysis of the scientific literature addressing the combination of these topics, it was possible to verify the efficiency of the interdisciplinary methodology that combines art and EE. This union presented positive results, according to the works investigated in this research. Thus, it was found that the practices reported in the articles was capable of generating interest and awakening the critical thinking of students regarding socioenvironmental issues. However, it cannot be affirmed that there is effectively a change in habits on the part of the students and their families, as the studies found did not follow them beyond the school environment nor had contact with the students' families. Finally, it was possible to understand that methodologies that unite art and EE show promise in the path towards more sustainable forms of development.
