Carnaval azul e branco: o comportamento na rua de foliões do Afoxé Filhos de Gandhy no carnaval soteropolitano

Abstract

Investiga-se traços de comportamento de foliões do Afoxé Filhos de Gandhy no cenário do Carnaval soteropolitano durante as duas primeiras décadas do século XXI. Em destaque, a festa na rua. Entendemos ser essa festa um ambiente com certo clima de liberalidade, onde ocorreria a quebra momentânea dos padrões comportamentais dos sujeitos. Esses sujeitos assumem posturas performáticas para vivenciar o Carnaval, apesar da política de normatização e disciplina da festa pensada pelos setores públicos e privados que organizam tal evento. Portanto, o cenário festivo do Carnaval soteropolitano nas duas primeiras décadas do século XXI teria sua própria dinâmica e imprevisibilidade no momento que acontece o contato direto entre os foliões em geral, de diferentes lugares e meios sociais. Além disso, em se tratando de uma manifestação cultural tradicional e presente na sociedade soteropolitana, os foliões vivenciam este ambiente como um hábito e costume que se repete ano após ano. Inicialmente, discute-se os conceitos de Autor/Intelectual, Formas de Conhecimento e Etnografia. Em seguida, alguns aspectos teórico-metodológicos do conceito de Carnaval à luz do pensamento de Mikhail Bakhtin, além de outros autores que permitem pensar o Carnaval como uma festividade que envolve hábitos e costumes dos habitantes de Salvador. Desenvolve-se um breve histórico do Carnaval soteropolitano das duas primeiras décadas do século XXI, com destaque para a organização e relação espaço/tempo, para, enfim, discorrer sobre o folião, convergindo numa etnografia dos foliões do Afoxé Filhos de Gandhy na cena do Carnaval.

Investigating Behavioral traits of Afoxé Sons of Gandhy revelers in the scene of the Soteropolitan Carnival during the two first decades of the 21st century. In particular, the street party. We understand that this party is an environment with a certain climate of liberality, where the momentary break of the behavioral patterns of the subjects would occur. These subjects assume performance postures to experience the Carnival, in spite of policy of normatization and discipline of the party thought and organized by the public and private sectors that organize such event. Therefore, the festive scene of the Soteropolitan Carnival in the two first decades of the twenty-first century would have its own dynamics and unpredictability in the moment that the direct contact between the revelers in general, of different places and social means happens. Moreover, in the case of a traditional cultural manifestation and present in the Soteropolitan society, revelers experience this environment as a habit and custom that repeats itself year after year. Initially, the concepts of Author / Intellectual, Forms of Knowledge and Ethnography are discussed. Next, some theoretical and methodological aspects of the concept of Carnival in the light of the thought of Mikhail Bakhtin, in addition to other authors that allow to think Carnival as a festivity that involves habits and customs of the inhabitants of Salvador. A brief history of the Soteropolitan Carnival of the first two decades of the XXI century, with emphasis on the organization and space / time relation, is presented, finally, to discuss the reveler, converging in an ethnography of the Afoxé Sons of Gandhy in the scene of the carnival.
