| dc.description | The radical imaginary assumes in Castoriadis a central position in the reflection of society and history, taken by the author as the same thing: the social-historical. Source of both creation and alienation, the imaginary is the capacity, of the individual and anonymous collective that the social-historical is, to treat what is not as if it were. In elucidating the imaginary – and the institutions to which it usually gives an extra-social appearance – is individual and social auto-nomy as an always provisional position of a new relationship with the human world, through which the subject and society are explained as self-creation and self-alteration, as instituting themselves. It is in this sense that politics and democracy appear as a revolutionary project: as the praxis of autonomy, as the reorganization of society, as a new relationship with time. Through bibliographic research, the present work seeks the foundation of creation and auto-nomy in Castoriadis, to then understand the impacts of its formulations on the formal insti-tutional arrangements of contemporary societies, namely, politics and democracy. In the end, it is argued that only an undertaking of radical democracy embodies the form or political ex-pression of an explicitly instituted, autonomous society. | |
| dc.description | O imaginário radical assume em Castoriadis uma posição central na reflexão da sociedade e da história, tomados pelo autor como sendo uma só e a mesma coisa: o social-histórico. Fonte tanto da criação quanto da alienação, o imaginário é a capacidade, do indivíduo e do coletivo anônimo que o social-histórico é, de tratar o que não é como se fosse. Em elucidar o imaginário – e as instituições às quais geralmente confere uma aparência extra-social – está a autonomia individual e social enquanto posição sempre provisória de uma nova relação com o mundo humano, pela qual explicita-se sujeito e sociedade como autocriação e autoalteracão, como instituintes de si mesmos. É nesse sentido que a política e a democracia aparecem como um projeto revolucionário: como práxis de autonomia, como reorganização da sociedade, como uma nova relação com o tempo. Através de pesquisa bibliográfica, o presente trabalho procura entender o fundamento da criação e da autonomia em Castoriadis, para então compreender os impactos de suas formulações sobre os arranjos institucionais formais das sociedades contem-porâneas, nomeadamente, a política e a democracia. Ao final, sustenta-se que somente um em-preendimento de democracia radical consubstancia a forma ou a expressão política de uma sociedade explicitamente instituinte, autônoma. | |
