dc.descriptionThe objective of this master's thesis was to understand how transgender athletes are included in the Olympics, and if the aforementioned inclusion interferes with competitiveness and competition results, while exclusion may incur segregation and promote discrimination. The construction of this dissertation took place from the use of the Scandinavian model, also called multipaper, which proposes a structure composed of different articles, which allow the understanding of the research problem. To this end, three articles were prepared, they are: Article 1 - State of Knowledge: transgender athletes, Article 2 - Olympic Games: sex and gender verification policies, Article 3 - Socio-legal analysis of policies for the inclusion of transgender athletes in the Olympic Games based on the principles of equality and non-discrimination. Finally, after presenting the three articles of this dissertation, it is understood that justice implies the recognition of transgender women as equal moral agents, at the same time justice in sport requires that women are not physically disadvantaged either, requiring a response based on scientific evidence to maintain the sporting principles of equality and non-discrimination, in accordance with all arguments and legislation presented throughout this dissertation.
dc.descriptionO objetivo da presente dissertação de mestrado foi compreender como se dá a inclusão de atletas transgênero nas Olimpíadas, e se a mencionada inclusão interfere na competitividade e nos resultados da competição, ao mesmo tempo em que a exclusão poderá incorrer em segregações e promover a discriminação. A construção desta dissertação se deu a partir da utilização do modelo escandinavo, também chamado de multipaper, que propõe uma estrutura composta por diferentes artigos, que possibilitem a compreensão do problema de pesquisa. Para tal, foram elaborados três artigos, são eles: Artigo 1 - Estado do Conhecimento: atletas transgênero, Artigo 2 - Jogos Olímpicos: políticas de verificação de sexo e gênero, Artigo 3 - Análise sociojurídica das políticas de inclusão de atletas transgênero nos Jogos Olímpicos com base nos princípios da igualdade e não discriminação. Por fim, após a apresentação dos três artigos desta dissertação, entende-se que a justiça implica o reconhecimento das mulheres transgênero como agentes morais iguais, ao mesmo tempo a justiça no esporte exige que as mulheres também não sejam fisicamente desfavorecidas, sendo necessária uma resposta com base em evidências científicas para manutenção dos princípios desportivos de igualdade e não discriminação, conforme todos os argumentos e legislações apresentados no decorrer da presente dissertação.
