| dc.description | This study aimed to analyze the social representations of sport by students in the
physical education teaching undergraduate course and was organized in six chapters.
The first presents an integrative review of social representations and sports,
comprising thirty articles. The methodological strategies employed appear in the
second chapter. A pilot study was developed in the third chapter, seeking an initial
approximation to the research object (sports) and the subjects (physical education
teaching undergraduate students). The initial phase of the study was developed and a
reduced sample was analyzed, that is, 52 participants. However, some results were
similar to those found later on, in the deepening phase. After finishing the pilot study,
we carried out a new data collection, which originated chapters five and six. This phase
included 134 students. Chapter four enabled us to know the students better, their
motivations for the sports practice, and the reasons why they did not do sports. In
chapter five, we analyzed the organizational structure of the social representation of
sports. We identified that regardless of the year of study and the fact that the student
did sports or not, the term “health” was the most stable component of the central core,
while “competition” and “football” were consistent in the first periphery. Finally, chapter
six analyzed the students’ definitions of sports and identified two main sub-bodies. In
addition, we could notice the movement influenced by the years of study and closeness
to graduation that starts with broader and flexible definitions and follows toward more
accurate and rigid definitions. This study started from the hypothesis that the objectified
image that students have of sport is the same, but the information they have about it
is anchored in several elements, and the years of study in the undergraduate course
are more influential than the fact that they do sports or not. We concluded that our
hypothesis was confirmed. | |
| dc.description | O presente texto teve por objetivo analisar as representações sociais de acadêmicos
do Curso de Licenciatura em Educação Física sobre esporte, e foi estruturado em seis
capítulos. No primeiro é apresentada uma revisão integrativa sobre representações
sociais e esporte, composta por 30 artigos. No segundo, as estratégias metodológicas
utilizadas. No terceiro capítulo, desenvolvemos um estudo piloto, buscando uma
aproximação inicial com o objeto de pesquisa (esporte) e os sujeitos (acadêmicos de
Licenciatura em Educação Física). O estudo foi realizado em uma fase inicial e contou
com uma amostra reduzida, de 52 acadêmicos. Porém, alguns resultados foram
semelhantes aos resultados encontrados posteriormente, na fase de aprofundamento.
Após a finalização do estudo piloto, realizamos uma nova coleta de dados, que deu
origem aos capítulos quatro, cinco e seis, contando com a participação de 134
acadêmicos. O capítulo quatro permitiu conhecer melhor os acadêmicos, suas
motivações para a prática esportiva, ou os motivos pelos quais não a praticam. No
capítulo cinco, analisamos a estrutura organizacional da representação social sobre
esporte. Identificamos que, indiferente do ano de graduação e do fato de ser ou não
praticante de esportes, o termo “saúde” foi o componente mais estável no núcleo
central, bem como “competição” e “futebol” na 1a periferia. Por fim, no capítulo seis,
analisamos a definição de esporte dos acadêmicos e identificamos dois subcorpos
principais. Além disso, foi possível perceber o movimento influenciado pela
graduação, que inicia com definições mais amplas e flexíveis e segue em direção a
definições mais criteriosas e rígidas. O presente estudo partiu da hipótese de que a
imagem objetivada que os acadêmicos têm sobre esporte é a mesma, mas a
informação que possuem sobre o objeto está ancorada em diferentes elementos,
sendo o tempo de graduação mais influente do que o fato de praticar ou não esportes.
Concluímos que a hipótese foi confirmada. | |
