dc.descriptionThis study is about the social constitution of the body representations of high school students of a state public school in Guarapuava-PR. The research is characterized as quantitativequalitative (GAMBOA, 2003; YIN, 2016), and has the following problematic question: How does the social constitution of the body representations of high school students of a public school in Guarapuava-PR take place? As a general objective, it is proposed to analyze how the social constitution of the body representations of high school students of a state public school in Guarapuava-PR is effective. As specific objectives, it is intended: a) To identify the elements that influence the social constitution of the body representations of high school students of a state public school of Guarapuava-PR; b) To investigate the situations of the school environment that influence the social constitution of the body representations of high school students of a public school in Guarapuava-PR; c) To verify whether physical education classes influence the identification and resignification of the social constitution of the body representations of high school students. It is argued that the representations present in school and Physical Education classes can reproduce, build or resignify the representations of body rooted in society, thus defending the thesis that the social constitution and resignification of the body representations of high school students involve complex processes, which are associated not only with the school, but to every social context through political, cultural and economic influences, that is, this must be understood from a relational analysis. The theoretical methodological contribution of the research is based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Pierre Bourdieu's social theory (1983, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2015, 2017), using the concepts of habitus, field, capital and symbolic violence. The research was conducted in a state public school in Guarapuava-PR, the participants were 86 high school students, as instruments for data production, the questionnaire was used, with open and closed questions, and the focus group. Iramuteq software was used to organize and process the research data. The data were analyzed through Bourdieu's relational analysis (1983, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2015, 2017). The results of the research revealed that the social constitution of the body representations of high school students is effective from the habitus of agents and representations shared by the group, representations that are articulated to "body and appearance", "body and health", "body and prejudice", "body and culture" and "body and gender". Some regularities identified in the context of the research indicate conflict relationships, resulting from the relationship that students establish with their body and with the body of the other, conflicts with the image, physical abilities, behaviors and difficulties in living with differences. The elements that influence the constitution of representations are present in the social structure through the dominant discourse and together with the school and Physical Education serve as references to guide and justify the actions of agents in the field.

Como objetivo geral, propõe-se analisar como se efetiva a constituição social das representações de corpo dos alunos do ensino médio de uma escola pública estadual de Guarapuava-PR. Como objetivos específicos, pretende-se: a) Identificar os elementos que influenciam na constituição social das representações de corpo dos alunos do ensino médio de uma escola pública estadual de Guarapuava-PR; b) Averiguar as situações do ambiente escolar que influenciam na constituição social das representações de corpo dos alunos do ensino médio de uma escola pública estadual de Guarapuava-PR; c) Verificar se as aulas de Educação Física influenciam na identificação e ressignificação da constituição social das representações de corpo dos alunos do ensino médio de uma escola pública estadual de Guarapuava-PR. Argumenta-se que as representações presentes na escola e nas aulas de Educação Física podem reproduzir, construir ou ressignificar as representações de corpo arraigadas na sociedade, assim defende-se a tese de que a constituição social e a ressignificação das representações de corpo dos alunos do ensino médio envolvem processos complexos, os quais estão associados não apenas a escola, mas a todo contexto social perpassando pelas influências políticas, culturais e econômicas, ou seja, isso deve ser compreendido a partir de uma análise relacional. O aporte teórico metodológico da pesquisa fundamenta-se nos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Teoria social de Pierre Bourdieu (1983, 2001, 2002, 2006, 20082, 015, 2017), utilizando-se os conceitos de habitus, campo, capital e violência simbólica. A pesquisa foi realizada em uma escola pública estadual de Guarapuava-PR, os participantes foram 86 alunos do ensino médio, como instrumentos para a produção de dados foram utilizados o questionário, com questões abertas e fechadas, e o grupo focal. Para a organização e processamento dos dados da pesquisa utilizou-se o software Iramuteq. Os dados foram analisados por meio da análise relacional de Bourdieu (1983, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2015, 2017). Os resultados da pesquisa revelaram que a constituição social das representações de corpo dos alunos do ensino médio se efetiva a partir do habitus dos agentes e de representações partilhadas pelo grupo, representações que são articuladas ao “corpo e a aparência”, “corpo e saúde”, “corpo e preconceito”, “corpo e cultura” e “corpo e gênero”. Algumas regularidades identificadas no contexto da pesquisa indicam relações de conflito, decorrentes da relação que os alunos estabelecem com seu corpo e com o corpo do outro, conflitos com a imagem, habilidades físicas, comportamentos e dificuldades em conviver com as diferenças. Os elementos que influenciam para a constituição das representações estão presentes na estrutura social por meio do discurso dominante e juntamente com a escola e a Educação Física servem de referências para guiar e justificar as ações dos agentes no campo.
