dc.descriptionThis academic master's work aimed to analyze the representations and appropriations of History textbooks among high school students in the city of Guarapuava (Paraná). As cultural objects, textbooks have great complexity due to the factors involved in their production, evaluation, choices and consumption, being important constitutive elements of school history. Research on the perceptions of school students about the materials is still incipient and necessary, given the recent reflections on History Teaching that put such subjects in evidence. In this sense, this research is part of the discussions of Didactics of History, as it aimed to investigate the uses and meanings of textbooks by students. What young people think about the material, what are their definitions, what importance they attribute to books and what forms of use they undertake, were some of the guiding issues of the research. As objects of culture and full of historicity, this investigation was based on the reflections of the New Cultural History, especially through the concepts of representation and appropriation discussed by Roger Chartier. In this way, we analyzed the sources: data from the “Resident Project: observatory of relations between young people, history and politics in Latin America”, collected in 2019; interview with the teacher of the collaborating students, held in 2021; and questionnaires answered objectively and in an essay in 2021 by students. We found that the main appropriations of History textbooks among the collaborating students were related to the disciplinary code of History and that the representations built for the materials were related to everyday appropriations and social memory in relation to the book. One of the most relevant aspects to be highlighted is that young people attached great importance to the History textbook.
dc.descriptionEste trabalho de mestrado acadêmico visou analisar as representações e apropriações de livros didáticos de História entre estudantes do Ensino Médio do município de Guarapuava (Paraná). Enquanto objetos culturais, os livros didáticos possuem grande complexidade devido aos fatores envolvidos em sua produção, avaliação, escolhas e consumos, sendo importantes elementos constitutivos da cultura escolar e da cultura histórica. As pesquisas a respeito das percepções dos/as estudantes das escolas sobre os materiais ainda são incipientes e se fazem necessárias, haja vista as recentes reflexões sobre o Ensino de História que colocam tais sujeitos em evidência. Nesse sentido, esta pesquisa se insere nas discussões da Didática da História, pois visou investigar os usos e as significações dos livros didáticos por parte dos/as estudantes. O que os/as jovens pensam sobre o material, quais suas definições, qual a importância atribuem aos livros e quais as formas de uso empreendem, foram algumas das problemáticas norteadoras da pesquisa. Enquanto objetos da cultura e repletos de historicidade, esta investigação se deu a partir das reflexões da Nova História Cultural, especialmente por meio dos conceitos de representação e apropriação discutidos por Roger Chartier. Desse modo, analisamos as fontes: dados do “Projeto Residente: observatório das relações entre jovens, história e política na América Latina”, coletados em 2019; entrevista com a professora dos/as estudantes colaboradores/as, realizada em 2021; e questionários respondidos de forma objetiva e dissertativa em 2021 pelos/as estudantes. Constatamos que as principais apropriações dos livros didáticos de História entre os/as estudantes colaboradores/as se relacionavam com o código disciplinar da História e que as representações construídas para os materiais estavam relacionadas às apropriações cotidianas e à memória social em relação ao livro. Um dos aspectos mais relevantes a ser ressaltado é que os/as jovens atribuíram grande importância ao livro didático de História.
