dc.descriptionThis dissertation has as its main goal to understand how the subject violence against women is approached in the journalistic coverages made by the news portals aRede, from Ponta Grossa – PR, and RSN, from Guarapuava – PR. To do so, this study focused on analyze a six-month period of coverage developed by the portals – march to august 2018 – and perform semi-structured interviews with editors and journalists from the previously mentioned newsrooms and the women’s police department chiefs from both cities. The methodologic support of this research uses the content analysis bibliography, proposed by Bardin (1977), to organize in categories 177 news collected in the selected period. The theoretical concept that basis the analysis over the journalistic material and the interviews have its origins in the journalistic field and the gender studies. The gender perspective adopted in this work is cultural and, in the journalistic scope, concepts as framing, newsmaking and newsworthiness are resorts. Some of the main aspects noticed on the coverages of the portals are: 1) the Military Police appears as the major news source when the subject is violence against women and, in this position, it becomes the primary definer of the theme; 2) the newsworthiness criterion of the coverage are centered in a macro drama tragedy level and in a micro violence/crime level, death risk/death, and catastrophe; 3) the news framing puts the theme as a police matter, with emphases in a episodic approach of the events.
dc.descriptionEsta dissertação tem como objetivo compreender como o tema violência contra a mulher é abordado nas coberturas jornalísticas dos portais de notícias aRede, de Ponta Grossa, e RSN, de Guarapuava. Para tanto, o estudo concentrou-se em analisar um período de seis meses de cobertura dos portais – de março a agosto de 2018 -, além de realizar entrevistas semiestruturadas com os editores e jornalistas das redações, e delegadas da mulher de ambas as cidades. O apoio metodológico da pesquisa utiliza a bibliografia de análise de conteúdo, proposta por Bardin (1977), para a organização em categorias das 177 notícias coletadas no período de recorte. A conceituação teórica que embasa a análise do material jornalístico e as entrevistas é proveniente do campo jornalístico e dos estudos de gênero. A perspectiva de gênero adotada é a cultural e, do jornalismo, são mobilizados os conceitos de enquadramento, newsmaking e noticiabilidade. Algumas das principais características constatadas na cobertura dos portais são: 1) a Polícia Militar como principal fonte de notícia sobre o assunto violência contra a mulher e, consequentemente, como definidora primária sobre o tema; 2) o critério de noticiabilidade da cobertura centrado num nível macro tragédia drama e num nível micro violência/crime, risco de morte/morte, e catástrofe; 3) o enquadramento das notícias como tema policial, com ênfase em uma abordagem episódica sobre os acontecimentos.
