dc.descriptionIn this research we have as an object of study the social representations of the penitentiary agents of the State Penitentiary of Ponta Grossa – PR (PEPG) about the prisoner’s human rights. In a qualitative way, we used the following methodological procedures: bibliography research, documental research, naturalistic observations, a questionary with open and closed questions and a semi-structured interview whose statement were analyzed and settled in the Social Representations Theory. We performed the research in PEPG, from where we choose the penitentiary agents to participate in the semi-structured interview, and then we could to raise up the social representations about the prisoner’s human rights. All in, eight inquired people were selected among those who said that they have had a greater directed contact with the prisoners. In this way, we selected the penitentiary agents for your time of work; we choose them who have shorter, middle and longer time in their function. We also choose agents who have worked in other penitentiaries and, also, them who have worked only in the PEPG. Some of the inquired people did a course in human rights soon after their beginning as penitentiary agent, but others didn’t. Hereafter the realizations of these procedures and under the theoretical foundation of social representations, we present two main points of analysis related to the objective of the research. The first one deals with the prisoner’s human rights according to the law and the accomplishment of the penitentiary agent’s function, and the second one brings the representation of the human rights as something that shouldn’t be linked to that space. That is appropriated to the execution of the punishment, in order to loosen the punishment and to block the realization of its punitive purpose.
dc.descriptionNesta pesquisa temos como objeto de estudo as representações sociais dos agentes penitenciários da Penitenciária Estadual de Ponta Grossa – PR (PEPG) acerca dos direitos humanos do preso. De caráter qualitativo, utilizamos os seguintes procedimentos metodológicos: pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa documental, observação naturalística, questionário com questões abertas e fechadas e entrevista semi-estruturada - cujos depoimentos foram analisados com base na Teoria de Representações Sociais. Realizamos a pesquisa na PEPG, de onde selecionamos os agentes penitenciários que participaram da entrevista semi-estruturada, momento em que pudemos levantar as representações sociais sobre os direitos humanos do preso. Ao todo foram oito entrevistados, selecionados a partir do critério da maior diversidade, dentre aqueles que relataram possuir contato direto com os presos. Desse modo, selecionamos tanto aqueles que possuem o menor tempo de serviço na função de agente penitenciário, quanto os que possuem o maior, assim como aqueles que se situam entre os dois extremos. Ademais, escolhemos agentes que já atuaram em outras penitenciárias e também os que só trabalharam na PEPG. Em outro critério, alguns dos entrevistados realizaram capacitação em direitos humanos após ingresso na função de agente penitenciário, outros, não. A partir da realização destes procedimentos e sob embasamento teórico das Representações Sociais, apresentamos dois eixos de análise em relação ao objetivo da pesquisa. O primeiro trata dos direitos humanos do preso como respeito à lei e cumprimento das funções de agente penitenciário, e o segundo traz a representação de direitos humanos como algo que não deveria se vincular ao espaço que é destinado ao cumprimento da pena, por “afrouxar” a pena e impedir, assim, a realização de sua finalidade punitiva.
