| dc.description | Una vez que se asume el rechazo rawlsiano al capitalismo del Estado de Bienestar, existen robustos argumentos para afirmar que, puesto a elegir, Rawls se inclinaría por el socialismo en lugar de la democracia de propietarios. El socialismo liberal supone un esquema de cooperación estable que asegura el justo valor de las libertades políticas; supera la escisión burguesa entre el hombre egoísta y el ciudadano abstracto; limita las desigualdades desde una lectura estricta del principio de diferencia; neutraliza el hecho de la dominación por medio de la instauración de la propiedad común de los medios de producción; y se acerca mucho más al ideal de la igualdad democrática. | |
| dc.description | Once Rawls’s rejection of welfare-state capitalism is admitted, there still are robust arguments to assert that, if faced with a choice, Rawls would tend to select socialism instead of property-owning democracy. Liberal socialism entails a stable scheme of cooperation that secures the fair value of political liberties; overcomes the bourgeois divide between the egoistic man and the abstract citizen; sets limits to inequalities from a strict reading of the difference principle; neutralizes the fact of domination through the establishment of common ownership of the means of production; and comes closer to the ideal of democratic equality. | |
