| dc.description | El propósito de este trabajo es describir y analizar un grupo extenso de nombres de plantas y animales en lengua toba (Guaycurú). Estos son codificados como compuestos nominales y conformados recurrentemente mediante términos del vocabulario básico de la lengua que han devenido especializados en el léxico etnobiológico. Los términos documentados son: lyalek / lyale ‘su hijo’ / ‘su hija’, lta/a / late/e ‘su padre’/ ‘su madre’, l/ek / lashe ‘su habitante’, l/o ‘su especialista’ y lalaGat / lalaqte ‘su insecto’. Este recurso de formación de nombres es de especial interés con relación a la categorización lingüística así como a la percepción toba del entorno natural. | |
| dc.description | The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze a large group of names of plants and animals in the Toba language (Guaycuruan). They are coded as compounds and recurrently formed by terms of the basic vocabulary of the language that have become specialized in the ethnobiological lexicon. The terms documented are the following: lyalek / lyale ‘child/ daughter’, lta/a / late/e ‘father’ / ‘mother’, l/ek / lashe ‘inhabitant, l/o ‘specialist, expert’, and lalaGat / lalaqte ‘insect’. This word formation and naming resource is of special interest with regard to linguistic categorization and the perception of the Toba natural world. | |
