dc.descriptionLa ciudadanía se encuentra ligada a la historia del Estado, sin embargo, definir ciudadanía no es asunto sencillo, implica un largo proceso hasta que se generan las condiciones para que sea aceptada por la sociedad civil. Luego de años de implementación de instrumentos progresivos en pos de la creación del Estatuto de Ciudadanía del MERCOSUR, finalmente fue conseguido en 2021, el año del 30° aniversario de la firma del Tratado de Asunción. Se analizan las ciudades fronterizas de Concordia (Argentina) y Salto (Uruguay) unidas por el río Uruguay, las cuales comparten intereses y desafíos, lo que les permite integrar los respectivos ciudadanos.
dc.descriptionCitizenship is linked to the history of the State. However, defining citizenship is not easy, because it implies a long process until the conditions are generated for it to be accepted by civil society. After years of implementing progressive instruments in pursuit of the creation of the Citizenship Statute, it was finally achieved in 2021, the year of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Asunción. The border cities of Argentina and Uruguay linked by the Uruguay River, which share interests and challenges, are analyzed, allowing them to integrate their respective citizens.
