| dc.description | En el presente trabajo se hace visible a dos mujeres viajeras y escritoras que intervinieron en conflictos políticos del siglo XIV: Brígida de Suecia y Catalina de Siena. Ambas se preocuparon por los problemas derivados de la estadía de los papas en Avignon. Brígida influyó en el regreso a Roma de Urbano V, permanencia que duró solo tres años. Catalina contribuyó con particular empeño en el regreso definitivo del papado a Roma. Además, intervino activamente para poner fin a las luchas de las ciudades italianas entre sí y con el Papa. | |
| dc.description | This paper presents two female travelers and writers who took active part in the political conflicts during the XIV century: Bridget of Sweden and Catherine of Siena. Both women were concerned with the problems that arose as a consequence of the residence of the popes in Avignon. Bridget specially influenced upon the return of Urban V to Rome, stay that only lasted three years. Catherine, on the other hand, contributed with particular effort to the definite restoration of the Papacy in Rome. Besides, she actively participated in the attempts made to put an end to the fights of the Italian cities among themselves and the conflicts held between these cities and the Pope. | |
