| dc.description | This article provides a conceptual and historical overview on the forms modernity undertakes in the Andean region of the province of Río Negro. From the understanding of mutual constitution between time and space, and by the recognition that the discourseof progress and modernity, there reenablednew perspectives in the analysis of the territorial configuration in areas of subordinated or late integration, as is the Andean Patagonian case. The territory in question was very early categorized as a protected area through the legal entity of National Parks, which significantly restricted possibilities of change and intervention. By reviewing the political and economic orders that go from the first half of the twentieth century to the early twentyfirst century, we see a 'borderline' and incomplete modernity, which reproduces forms of colonial dependence, while it legitimates forms of social inequality. This leadsus into a debate about the materiality that allows this construction, observing in this particular readingof theenvironment many clues to better understand this symbolic frame. | |

| dc.description | El presente artículo realiza un recorrido conceptual e histórico sobre particularidades de la modernidad en la región andina de la provincia de Río Negro, Patagonia argentina. Desde el reconocimiento de la mutua constitución entre tiempo y espacio, y a partir de discursos relativos al progreso y modernidad, se habilitan nuevos modos de complejizar la trayectoria de la construcción territorial en espacios de integración subordinada y tardía. La región andina quedó tempranamente bajo la categoría de área protegida, a través de la figura de Parques Nacionales, lo cual restringió los permisos de cambio e intervención. A partir de revisar los órdenes políticos y económicos establecidos desde la primera mitad del siglo XX hasta inicios del XXI, observamos que se despliega una modernindad fronteriza e incompleta, que reproduce formas de dependencia coloniales y justifica formas de desigualdad social. Esto nos lleva a debatir acerca de los anclajes materiales de estas consideraciones, observando en la particular lectura sobre el ambiente elementos centrales para dilucidar este entramado. | |
