| dc.description | In the mid-sixties, in the newly formed provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro, the new atmosphere of the Second Vatican Council brought to the dioceses a pleiad of priests, religious men and women who sought to implement the “option for the poor” especially from the bishoprics of Jaime De Nevares (1961-1991) and Miguel Esteban Hesayne (1975-1993). In this context, in 1978 Bishop Hesayne decided to create a devotional symbol more identified with the region to join all the faithful people of the various Rio Negro parishes. In this article we are interested in deepening, not only in the pastoral project of the construction of the image from the symbolic point, but also delving into its territorial project, in how that image with Mapuche features, through its Marian journey, territorializes and makes the provincial space sacred. Based on this and focused on a qualitative method, we propose to work with variety of sources: written (Archives of the Bishopric of Viedma —brochures, drafts and minutes of meetings—, Diocesan Bulletins, Post Synod Exhortation of 1983-1984, homilies of the bishop and publications such as "letters from the bishop"), oral (priests’ interviews); and visuals (photographs, bulk Marian images and field work photographs). | |

| dc.description | A mediados de los sesenta, en la recientes provincias de Neuquén y Río Negro, los nuevos aires del Concilio Vaticano II llevaron a las diócesis una pléyade de sacerdotes, religiosos y religiosas que buscaron implementar la “opción por los pobres” especialmente a partir de los obispados de Jaime de Nevares (1961-1991) y de Miguel Esteban Hesayne (1975-1993). En ese contexto, en el año 1978 el obispo de Hesayne decide crear un símbolo devocionario que estuviera más identificado con la región y que uniera a todos los fieles de las diversas parroquias rionegrinas. En el presente artículo nos interesa profundizar, no sólo en el proyecto pastoral de la construcción de la imagen desde el punto simbólico, sino también ahondar en el proyecto territorial de la misma, en cómo esa imagen con rasgos mapuches, a través de su recorrido mariano, territorializa y sacraliza el espacio provincial.En función de ello y enfocados en un método cualitativo,nos proponemos trabajar con fuentes de variada procedencia: escritas (Archivos del Obispado de Viedma –Folletos, borradores y actas de reuniones, Boletines diocesanos, Exhortación Post Sinodal de 1983-1984, homilías del obispo y publicaciones como “cartas del obispo”), orales (entrevistas a sacerdotes); y visuales (fotografías, imágenes marianas de bolto y fotografías de trabajo de campo). | |
