| dc.description | Resumen:
La historia de las relaciones internacionales en España como disciplina
historiográfi ca ha estado determinada por multitud de factores: la propia
condición de España como pequeña potencia desde principios del siglo XIX
hasta fi nales del XX; el retraso de España en su proceso de modernización
con respecto a los modelos europeos y occidentales; y la propia evolución de
la ciencia histórica en España en el marco general de las ciencias. En este
sentido, la historia de España y, obviamente, la historia de sus relaciones internacionales ha estado marcada por el signo del excepcionalismo hasta el último
tercio del siglo XX, cuando se ha ido abriendo paso la tesis de la “normalidad”.
Sería en este marco en el que se consolidaría la historia de las relaciones internacionales que, pese a su retraso, pondría de relieve la permeabilidad de la
historiografía española con la historiografía occidental. | |

The History of the International Relations in Spain as a historiographical
discipline has been infl uenced by a many factors: the own condition of Spain
as a small State since the begining of the XIXth Century to the end of the
XXth Century; the delay of Spain in its process of modernization in relation
to the European and Western patterns; and the evolution of historiography in
Spain in the framework of sciences. Likewise, Spanish history and, obviously,
the history of its international relations have been determined by the sign of
exceptionalism until the last third of the XXth Century, time in which the thesis of ‘normalcy’made its way. In this context the consolidation of the history
of international took place and, despite its delay, showed the permeability of
Spanish historiography concerning Western historiography. | |
