dc.descriptionIn the rural provinces of southern Santander (Colombia) a social movement has been developed; it is comprised of cooperatives, associations, social corporations and social foundations. The movement originated from various pastoral actions led by Ramón González, a Catholic priest. Various other priests and lay people were also involved in the movement and, over the course of five decades, they created a network of diverse social organizations. Cooperative education was conceived as the mobilizing strategy of the changes proposed by the movement. This article has three parts: the first one presents the background of cooperatives in the territory, secondly, it presents the principles and criteria that inspire the educational action and finally some results of the experience are presented.en-US
dc.descriptionEn las provincias rurales del sur de Santander (Colombia) se ha desarrollado un movimiento de economía solidaria compuesto por cooperativas y otras organizaciones solidarias. El movimiento inició a comienzos de la década de 1960, impulsado por la acción de la pastoral social de la Iglesia Católica, liderada por el sacerdote Ramón González. En el proceso se involucraron religiosos y laicos, que a lo largo de cinco décadas crearon una red de diversas organizaciones solidarias. La educación cooperativa fue concebida como la estrategia movilizadora de los cambios que se proponía impulsar el movimiento. El artículo tiene tres partes: la primera, presenta los antecedentes del cooperativismo en el territorio; la segunda, muestra los principios y criterios que inspiran la acción educativa y, por último, la tercera presenta algunos resultados de la experiencia.es-AR
