dc.descriptionRESUMEN: Esta investigación presenta un acercamiento a la experiencia de envejecer de cinco hombres adultos mayores homosexuales en la ciudad de Medellín, por medio de un estudio cualitativo de tipo fenomenológico-hermenéutico. Teniendo en cuenta sus experiencias de vida y a partir del análisis discursivo se logra comprender cuales son los significados a nivel subjetivo y las repercusiones que a nivel vital enfrentan los hombres que transgreden la hegemonía heteronormativa local. Se encontró una fuerte negación frente al envejecimiento, especialmente en la imagen corporal, además de un proceso de auto-afirmación identitaria, es decir asumirse como adulto mayor homosexual; así como una recurrencia en los señalamientos y discriminación sufridos en algún momento por parte de las instituciones sociales, familia, lugar de trabajo, barrio, lugares de socialización y la misma subcultura gay. Se destaca la tendencia de estos viejos homosexuales a la conformación de redes de apoyo como estrategia para afrontar la vejez.
dc.descriptionABSTRACT: This research sought to understand the process of aging and old age of five homosexual older men in the city of Medellin, by means of a qualitative study, taking into account the phenomenological-hermeneutical research method, allowing to describe through the discursive analysis the meanings to subjective level and the repercussions at the level of mental health that men had that transgress the local heteronormative hegemony, taking into account their life experiences and the meaning of being greater colors. In the analysis and conclusions it was found that the participants denote a denial in front of their aging, especially in their corporal image, making changes to achieve that eternal youth. In addition, there is a process of identity self-affirmation, that is, assuming oneself as a homosexual older adult; it is worth mentioning the signs and discrimination suffered by the interviewees at some point in their lives by social institutions: family, workplace, neighborhood, places of socialization and the same gay subculture. The formation of support networks that allow better coping strategies against aging in elderly people.
