| dc.description | RESUMEN: Los estudios sobre la adaptación cinematográfica en el ámbito hispanoamericano se han acercado al problema de la adaptación desde una perspectiva jerárquica de las artes, negando los fértiles diálogos que cine y literatura han brindado sobre el entendimiento del mundo. Este trabajo parte de la autonomía del arte y propone analizar las estrategias narrativas empleadas por Pedro Páramo (1955) y su adaptación cinematográfica (1967) a la luz de la traducción intersemiótica de Jakobson (1959) y de las categorías de historia y discurso de Chatman (1990). También se busca describir cómo ambas obras se convierten en medios subversivos al exigirle al lector una renuncia a la interpretación absoluta del mundo y de la obra artística. Esa resistencia al poder se hace tanto desde la fábula de Pedro Páramo como desde el mero ejercicio de observar un filme que reinterpreta una novela canónica. | |
| dc.description | ABSTRACT: Hispanic-American studies on cinematic adaptations have approached this phenomenon from a perspective that prioritizes certain arts above others, thus denying the prolific conversations that cinema and literature have contributed to the understanding of the world. This research starts from the fundamental idea that the various arts are autonomous and proposes to analyze the narrative strategies used in Pedro Páramo (1955) and its cinematic adaptation (1967), in light of Jakobson’s concept of intersemiotic translation (1959) and Seymour Chatman’s categories of history and discourse (1990). Similarly, this text seeks to describe how both artworks become subversive media by demanding a renounce to the absolute interpretation of the world and art in general. This resistance to power is achieved by the fable of Pedro Páramo and the mere act of observing a film that reinterprets an already canonic novel. | |
