dc.descriptionRESUMEN: El argumento central de esta investigación radica en que si bien los estudios afrocolombianos fueron cimentados en los intereses políticos colonialistas para controlar y dominar al “Otro”: negro-diferente; también hay que tener en cuenta que estos mismos estudios sirvieron de excusa para el auto reconocimiento y el empoderamiento de los pueblos negros. Sin embargo, nunca antes se consideró cuestionar la razón del rumbo que progresivamente fueron tomando estas investigaciones en el país. De esta manera, la identidad de los pueblos negros ha quedado en mano, papel y lápiz de muchos de los académicos de las ciencias sociales, especialmente la de historiadores y antropólogos que, desde una visión, en muchas ocasiones estereotipada y desconocedora, han inventado, dictado y replicado la historia y la cultura de los hombres y mujeres negros en Colombia. Es por esta razón que, al ser los balances historiográficos la principal guía crítica y de proyección sobre una línea de estudios, son la fuente idónea para la investigación de los avances, falencias y retos de la misma línea. Esto convierte esta investigación en un balance historiográfico acerca de las investigaciones que sobre la línea de estudios afrocolombianos se han realizado, utilizando la teoría de los estudios subalternos como marco interpretativo y herramienta metodológica.
dc.descriptionABSTRACT: The main arguments of this research are related to this idea: Whereas the Afro-Colombian studies were based on political interests of the colonialism for controlling and dominating the "Other": black-different; It is also necessary to have in mind that these same studies were used as an excuse for the self-recognition and empowerment of black people. However, the road that this political issues and investigations were taking in the country were not considered or disputed. In this way, the identity of black peoples has remained in the hand, paper and pencil of many of the academics of the social sciences, especially historians and anthropologists, those who from a vision, often stereotyped and ignorant, have invented, dictated and replicated the history and culture of black men and women in Colombia. This is the reason why the historiographical balances are the main critical and projection guide for the line of studies. They are the ideal source for the investigation of the advances, shortcomings and challenges of the same line. This previous considerations becomes this research into a historiographical balance about the research that has been carried out on the line of Afro-Colombian studies, using the theory of subaltern studies as an interpretative framework and methodological tool.
