| dc.description | RESUMEN: Tan polémico como complejo, el concepto de cultura política no había sido considerado en la historiografía sobre la Violencia y solo hasta hace aproximadamente 30 años empezó a estudiarse seriamente por parte de antropólogos y sociólogos. Sin embargo, lo anterior no es una garantía de unificación frente a las innumerables significaciones que comporta tal concepto, ni mucho menos indica que haya un consenso acerca del papel de la cultura en la violencia endémica que vive el país hace más de medio siglo o si existe una cultura de la violencia. Partiendo de esta premisa, el presente artículo se propone esbozar algunos de los elementos característicos que conformaron una cultura política en Urrao y Concordia durante la Violencia. Al respecto, destaca la amplia influencia de los partidos Liberal y Conservador en una conformación de esta cultura política, una acentuación de las diferencias ideológicas, la vía guerrerista para dirimir los conflictos y una identificación colectiva bajo el modelo de la Iglesia católica, además de un énfasis en la “otredad”. Como conclusión es posible afirmar, en primer lugar, que las dimensiones subjetivas de la Violencia desempeñaron un papel esencial en el desarrollo y configuración de esta. En segundo lugar, se puede concluir que, al parecer, la cultura política en estos dos municipios se han fundamentado con base en el desprecio al enemigo, a saber, a partir de un odio y minimización hacia aquel que pertenece al partido contrario o no encaja en el ethos cultural dominante | |
| dc.description | ABSTRACT: As controversial as it is complex, the concept of political culture had not been considered in the historiography on Violence and it was only until approximately 30 years ago that it began to be seriously studied by anthropologists and sociologists. However, the foregoing is not a guarantee of unification in the face of the innumerable meanings that such a concept entails, much less does it indicate that there is a consensus about the role of culture in the endemic violence that the country has been experiencing for more than half a century or if there is a culture of violence. Starting from this premise, this article aims to outline some of the characteristic elements that made up a political culture in Urrao and Concordia during the Violencia. In this regard, the broad influence of the Liberal and Conservative parties stands out in the formation of this political culture, an accentuation of ideological differences, the warmongering way to resolve conflicts and a collective identification under the model of the Catholic Church, in addition to a Emphasis on “otherness”. As a conclusion, it is possible to affirm, in the first place, that the subjective dimensions of Violence played an essential role in its development and configuration. Secondly, it can be concluded that, apparently, the political culture in these two municipalities has been based on contempt for the enemy, namely, based on hatred and minimization of those who belong to the opposite party or do not fit in. in the dominant cultural ethos. | |
