dc.descriptionIn order to establish the current state of knowledge of the avifauna in Atlántico state (Colombia) a literature review and bibliography on ornithological studies, inventories of wildlife, field data available from various sources of information (libraries, databases, computer tools) was made, results indicate that the state currently has a total of 363 bird species, including 43 recent new records of avifauna. This represents 51% of the amount of bird species in the Caribbean region and 19% of all registered species in Colombia (N = 1903). Of the stateâ s total, eighty (81) are migratory, which represent 44% of the total of migratory birds in Colombia (N = 185). Also, in the Atlántico state territory there are two of the species listed in the Red Book of Colombiaâ s birds Phoenicopterus ruber and Chauna chavaria, representing only 1.23 % of a total of 162 species consider threatened or near threatened. In addition, five near-endemic species: Chauna chavaria, Chlorostilbon gibsoni, Picumnus cinnamomeus, Inezia tenuirostris and Synallaxis candei, inhabit the state.en-US
dc.descriptionCon el propósito de establecer el estado actual del conocimiento sobre la avifauna del departamento del Atlántico, Colombia, se realizó una revisión de la bibliografía sobre estudios ornitológicos, inventarios de fauna y datos de campo, disponibles en diversas fuentes de información (bibliotecas, librerías y bases de datos sobre aves en línea), obteniéndose como resultado que el departamento cuenta en la actualidad con un total de 363 especies, a partir de 43 registros recientes de avifauna, lo que representa el 51 % de las aves de la subregión del Caribe y valle interandino, y el 19 % del total de especies registradas para Colombia (n=1903). Del total departamental, 81 especies son migratorias, es decir, el 44 % del total de aves migratorias para Colombia (n=185). Así mismo, existen dos especies incluidas en el libro rojo de las aves de Colombia: Phoenicopterus ruber, Chauna chavaria, las cuales representan sólo el 1,23 % del total de 162 especies amenazadas y casi amenazadas. Además, el departamento cuenta con cinco especies casi-endémicas: Chauna chavaria, Chlorostilbon gibsoni, Picumnus cinnamomeus, Inezia tenuirostris y Synallaxis candei.es-ES
