dc.description.abstractDifferent studies have suggested marked problems of anxiety and depression in the population that frequently use video games, or are part of the "Gamer" culture. population that frequently uses video games, or that are part of the "Gamer" culture. The objective of this study is to identify if there is a relationship between the use of video games, anxiety and depression. anxiety and depression. This research used an online self-report methodology on 60 subjects from a community of gamers, in which scales of stress, anxiety, depression and personality traits were evaluated, depression and personality traits were assessed. The results show that a part of the gaming community suffers from a high level of stress, anxiety, depression and personality traits. Gamers suffer from mild to high levels of stress, anxiety and depression. The level of stress results showed that most of the time this group of people spend most of their time stressed. stressed. This research was able to conclude that there is a relationship between the level of stress with symptoms of anxiety and depression with people who belong to the Gamer community. So it would be crucial an intervention to this group of people to give them the knowledge about stress management and how to confront the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
