The impact it has on the people who suffer it directly affects their quality of life. Young people and health professionals have become a more vulnerable population. The PHQ-9 was used as a measuring instrument to determine depressive symptoms. Results: 74.69% of the surveyed population presented symptoms of depression from mild to severe, it was evidenced that the majority of depressive symptoms were found in the population between 16-25 years (86.81%), the antecedent of mental illness during the last year showed an OR of 4.00 (95% CI 0.48-32.9); also the antecedents of diseases showed an OR of 6.00 (95% CI 0.74-48.23). Consumption of psychoactive substances and the risk of presenting depressive symptoms were reported by the students with an OR 1.45 (CI 0.15 - 13.67). Protective factors such as watching television were found with an OR of 0.21 (95% CI 0.46-0.99), in a similar proportion to collective activities such as walks, parties etc. With an OR 0.31 (95% CI 0, 10-0.93). 100% of the students in whom mild to severe depressive symptoms were identified (n = 68) reported a change in mood as a consequence of confinement, 77.9% (n = 53) presented depressive symptoms with an OR 1 .88 (95% CI 0.67-5.28).
