| dc.description | La presente investigaci?n muestra los hallazgos de un estudio realizado en el a?o 2018. El objetivo del estudio era fomentar el inter?s por el ingl?s de los estudiantes del grado noveno a trav?s del uso de canciones en ingl?s como estrategia l?dico-did?ctica. Para cumplir este objetivo se indag? sobre las actividades que los estudiantes deseaban desarrollar a trav?s de las canciones en el grado seleccionado para la intervenci?n, con base en los resultados obtenidos se dise?? una propuesta l?dico did?ctica que utiliz? como base las canciones en ingl?s. Evaluada la propuesta se implement? y despu?s de haber aplicado las actividades se evalu? el grado de motivaci?n de los estudiantes y con base en la estrategia se hizo la correlaci?n de las valoraciones obtenidas por los estudiantes en el pre-test y en el post-test.
La investigaci?n es de tipo cualitativo, la informaci?n de la investigaci?n se recolect? por medio de una encuesta a estudiantes, una prueba diagn?stica, la estrategia l?dico-did?ctica, espec?ficamente dos talleres basados en canciones en ingl?s y una prueba final, aplicada a estudiantes de noveno grado de la Instituci?n Educativa T?cnica Nicol?s Ram?rez del municipio de Ortega-Tolima.
Los resultados obtenidos muestran que las actividades basadas en el uso de canciones en ingl?s fueron efectivas porque los estudiantes aumentaron su nivel de motivaci?n hacia el aprendizaje del ingl?s,incrementaronsu conocimiento de vocabulario y mejoraron su habilidad de escucha.

| dc.description | The present research shows the findings of a study done in the year 2018. The objective of the study was to foster the interest for the English language from the students of grade 9th through the use of songs in English like game-like teaching strategy.
To attain this objective, there were questions about the activities that students desired to practice trough the songs in the selected grade for its intervention, based on the gotten results, a proposal was designed, including game-like activities that used basically the songs in English. Once this proposal was evaluated, it was implemented and after putting into practice the activities, the level of motivation of students and based on the strategy the correlation of the values obtained by the students in the pre-test and post-test was done.
The research is qualitative in its nature, the information of the research was collected through a survey to students, a diagnostic test, the game-like teaching strategy, specifically two workshops based on English songs and a final test, applied to students of ninth grade of the Educative Technical Institution Nicol?s Ram?rez of Ortega ? Tolima town.
The results that were obtained show that the activities based on the use of songs in English were effective, because the students increased their motivation level to the learning English, increased their knowledge of vocabulary and improved their listening skill.
