| dc.description | En este artículo se hace un análisis de la evolución histórica del término ‘nación’, desde su surgimiento en Europa en el siglo XVIII, hasta la Edad Moderna. A partir de aquí, se analiza, desde diversos puntos de vista, el concepto de nacionalismo como movimiento ideológico que pretende conseguir o mantener la autonomía, unidad e identidad de un grupo social que se considera que constituye una nación. Asimismo, se esboza la tipología de nacionalismos propuesta por Kohn. Luego, se discute el concepto de identidad nacional, enfatizando la importancia práctica que tiene su estudio.Palabras claves: Nación, Nacionalismo, Identidad Nacional, Ser psicológicoThis paper describes the historical evolution of the term ‘nation’ from the XVIII Century, when it appeared in Europe, to present times. Then, the concept of nationalism as an ideological movement which aims to achieve or to hold the autonomy, unity and identity of a social group considered as part of a nation, is analyzed from different points of view. Besides, Kohn’s typology of nationalisms is described.
